What did August give us

August started off on an amazing foot, but as the month progressed it seemed like there were fewer and fewer releases that actually interested me.

I've already wrote about how much I loved Shinee's "Married to the Music" and the Wonder Girls' entire Reboot album and how T-ara's "So Crazy" and Vixx LR's first mini album were pleasant surprises.

But several other good things came out that I never wrote about...

SNSD dropped dual singles "Lion Heart" and "You Think". Both were pretty good jams, though I prefer "Lion Heart" over "You Think" (but both were way better than "Party").

On the solo front, Lee Michelle's "I Can Sing" and Stephanie's "Prisoner" were pretty nice.

And TBH, I really liked Hyuna's "Because I'm the Best/Roll Deep" (or whatever you want to call it). It's my jam >.>

As for male groups, I actually really dug Legend's "Shadow".

I thought August would be a solid music month, but that's not how it turned out, so I have my fingers crossed that we get better jams in September.

Tony & Kangta

So like Tony and Kangta headed off to China yesterday for something, and the H.O.T fans I follow on Twitter are v excited.

Luckily, fans were able to snap pics of the two at the airport...

JUST. LOOK. AT. TONY. AND. KANGTA. OMGLOOK.

AND LOOK AT THEM AT THE THING. OMG.

LOOK AT THEM AFTERWARDS.

TBH, though, every time two or more H.O.T members are together it's enough reason to freak out.

So I'm still thinking about maybe watching Unpretty Rapstar 2 when it premiers in September... like, I really like Gilme, so I want to watch it for her. But I feel like the new season will be worse than the first because they're probably going to try to get more drama to happen (because viewers liked the drama in the first season), and it's going to end up feeling super staged. I'll give the show a shot and watch the first episode but IDK after that.

The Matshot Episode 7

This week on 더맛샷 (The Matshot), the guys were out shooting at the Seoul Institute of the Arts.

The fact that Taewoo has literally always been on the losing team is brought up, so this time, he'll get to decide the teams.

He picks his chef...

Junwoo clearly does not want to be stuck with loser Taewoo.

Taewoo doesn't want him either, though, and pushes him out of the way...

He has chosen Jingon.

And he picks his teammate...

Hell yeah~ Heejun and Taewoo are finally on the same team!!!

Kang Leo is also back this week.

Is there an 'M' theme? Perhaps as in MBLAQ? As in 'myun'? Are these next two episodes noodle themed? IDK.

The episode finally kicks off with the teams competing against one another in ten minute ramyun cooking challenges.

First up, we have Heejun vs. Thunder.

Ten minutes does not appear to be enough time...

Heejun prepares ramyun with crab.

While Thunder makes his with pork.

Thunder's samgyupsal and kimchi ramyun, with an egg whisked in bowl on the side.

Kang Leo takes some noodles and mixes them into the egg...

Heejun appears to be grossed out by this this.

Kang Leo picks Thunder's dish over Heejun's as his favorite... Is this a sign? Is Taewoo bad luck?

Next up is Taewoo and Suwon. Maknae battle.

Heejun can't not harass the other team...

Tru tho.

At some point, while cooking, Suwon lost his package of ramyun, LMAO.

Taewoo's dish.

Suwon's dish.

Surprisingly, Taewoo wins this round.

Though Heejun liked Suwon's.

Then it's the chefs' turn.

Heejun and Taewoo are super confident in the black team...

But Junwoo pumped AF for his dish.

Jingon's dish.

Junwoo's dish, also samgyupsal based.

However, even though Junwoo's looks super tasty, Jingon's dish wins!

They next have to pick a card out of a cup.

But Heejun does not like what they get, so he goes back and picks out more cards...

But the same thing is written on both of the new cards...

So they go through entire bucket and have the PD present them with the cards they deemed appropriate for the challenge.

And they put on a show when they reveal the card picked.

Then the teams are on the move to a new location to play some games...

For the first game, they have to eat some mandu and then guess the ingredients. The white team correctly guesses the most and wins, and they are rewarded with food. But they tell the black team that if they run up the hill and back, then they will share a little bit with them.

Of course, the guys do just that...

The next game involves them removing handfuls of rice from a large pile with a flag stuck into it and whoever causes the flag to fall is the loser.

Look at that robotic precision.

It's a white knuckle game...

Very intense.

Suwon causes the flag to fall, so the black team wins, and now they get some food.

Just as the white team did, the black team tells the losers that they can run up the hill if they want some of their stuff...

But Heejun makes them go farther and they have to do something embarrassing.

Like Thunder has to re-enact a scene from A Better Tomorrow.

And Heejun makes Suwon do this...

And then they make Junwoo do some aegyo for the camera...

I liked it at least B-)

But in the end, everyone gets something to eat, so it's all good, and then they all start planning for the big food truck battle.

But let's leave that for the next week.

Watch the latest episode here for yourself~

LAST Episodes 7 & 8

Even though this is ridiculously late, once again it's time to talk about 라스트 (LAST).

So, what happened in episodes seven and eight? Find out under the break~

Fishy Box trailers...

Previews for the new  jTBC show 박스 (BOX) were released earlier and they were super disappointing as Tony is no where to be seen...

WTF.

However, strangely, Jaeduc clearly appears in the one.

The pilot is airing on the 5th, so I guess we'll find out WTH is going on then...

Oh, and yoooooo~ My Human Condition 2 love Heo Taehee is apparently going to be on the show, too, so ayyy~<3

Eun Jiwon on Cool Kiz

On Tuesday, the KBS World Youtube page posted the first subbed video of Jiwon's most recent appearances on 우리동네 예체능 (Cool Kiz on the Block).

He's been on the show for three weeks so far, participating in their swimming competition episodes.

Jiwon is a crazy good swimmer, but I was very a little disappointed that he wasn't wearing a little speedo for all this -_-

But nonetheless, I, of course, made some gifs...

He made a grand entrance...

And tried to demonstrate the butterfly on dry land...

Gotta keep Little Jiwon safe.

Watch his first subbed appearance here

Also, just going to make a quick mention of it, I plan on watching 신서유기 (New Journey to the West) when it premiers next Friday the 4th, so I'll be covering that here, as well.

Check out the show's Facebook page for more info.
