Black Holiday with Qri & Suwon

[Caution: there will be spoilers so read at your own risk, dude.]

T-ara's web-drama, 달콤한 유혹 (Sweet Temptation), has finally kicked off, and on Monday, Soyeon and Qri's episodes were released.

I watched both (on Friday so this is late as usual) but will only be discussing Qri's installment, "블랙홀리데이 (Black Holiday)," because it co-starred my boy Suwon.

However, since she is my bias, I will say that Soyeon's episode was good. Even though it was pretty laughable that Soyeon was supposed to be an ugly girl (especially when they just threw on a pair of glasses and dotted freckles on her face... c'mon).

I thought this was going to be a straight-up rom-com, but there's actually like a Twilight Zone-y aspect to the series.

Both episodes began with the main characters losing their cell phones and winding up at some weird little shop run by witches where their replace their missing phones with ones that feature a magical app.

Yeah, I don't see how you could possibly not trust a place called "Devil's Phone."

Soyeon's episode had a fairly clichéd ending- she wished to be beautiful but then realized that she had a guy who appreciated her for who she originally was all along, so she didn't need her wish anymore, which left the witches shaking their heads.

However, Qri's episode surprised me...

Qri hates her current situation. She's overworked at a boring ass job. After a night of drinking, she misplaces her phone and ends up at the witches' shop.

When she gets home, she discovers the wishing app and makes a wish...

The next morning she gets a call from work saying that she's been placed on some sort of paid leave. This is exactly what she asked for and so she parties it up.

Soon, her place is a mess, but she finds a random flyer laying around that advertises a housekeeping service.

Here's where Suwon comes in- he's a male maid.

And he's totally not creepy...

lol wut?

Indeed.

Yeah, he did the thing!!!

He cleans up her place, cooks for her, shops for her, pays her bills- he literally does everything for her, and she's loving it~

Me whenever I watch stuff with Suwon in it, TBH.

Everything is going a-okay, but then out of curiosity, she uses the remote on him. LMAO.

I would.

She even makes him practice acting with her...

But, of course, her ideal situation quickly sours. She's getting sick of having her every whim catered to, and she feels like she's losing her autonomy.

And she's getting annoyed with Suwon. She can't even leave the house without him popping up...

While out, she runs into one of the witches, and she asks about the app. The girl is like IDK about that, but then, despite the fact the girl said she didn't know of the app, Qri asks if she can change her wish (wat?). Nonetheless, the witch is like maybe you could change it if you are willing to sacrifice something and then she just disappears.

The next day she fires Suwon.

But then she gets call from work telling her that she's been fired and a termination fee has been credited to her bank account. So she goes to check the damage but can't log into her account. When she goes to bank, they tell her that her account has been drained and then cancelled and that someone also took a loan out in her name.

Turns out Suwon flipping scammed her!

Obviously, this is seriously bad, and it gets worse when she can't reach him. Oh man, it seems like her life is now completely ruined. All thanks to some dumb little wish...

At least, the witches are happy, though.

After watching it, I was like, WTF? I thought this was supposed to be romantic, but no, it was some non-romantic cautionary tale. Dang. But at the same time, it really was a nice twist. So nice.

IDK if Suwon was actually bad in this, but I thought both him and Qri did pretty good jobs. This is exactly the kind of project I want Suwon to stick to.

Here are a couple more gifs of Suwon looking adorable~

Watch "Black Holiday" subbed here.
